Sounds of Tokyo

Art project / Graphic design / Illustration
This project celebrates elements of Japanese culture, and especially its love for onomatopeias. As onomatopeias are visual representations of sounds, we attempted to reverse this concept, by turning designs into sounds.
Each print represents a different category of onomatopeia. For instance, Giseigo (擬声語) is for sounds that humans and animals make. Zuruzuru (ズルズル) describes the specific slurping sound people make when eating noodles.
